The CargoWise partner growth playbook
The problem: every partner looks the same
Open five CargoWise partner websites side by side. Same badges, same service lists, same promises about certified consultants. A forwarder evaluating partners has nothing to choose on except price and whoever replied first. That is the whole growth problem in one screenshot.
Move 1: pick a position and say it loudly
The partners growing fastest stand for something narrow: fastest regional implementations, the integration and eAdaptor specialists, the support desk for forwarders whose implementation went badly, the productivity and workflow tuning team. Narrow positioning feels like turning business away. In practice it is the reason buyers remember you and referrals can describe you.
- Write one sentence a forwarder could repeat to a colleague about you.
- Lead your website with that sentence, not with certifications.
- Build case studies around outcomes: go live time, SLA numbers, saved ops hours.
Move 2: go where implementation demand actually is
Implementation and support leads come from predictable places:
- Forwarders already on CargoWise who are underusing it or unhappy with support. Outbound to them works because the pain is current.
- Forwarders evaluating a TMS move. Search coverage for implementation, migration and cost questions catches them early.
- The ecosystem itself. WiseTech events, user groups and forwarder communities. One visible consultant answering questions publicly outsells a brochure.
- Your consultants' LinkedIn. Buyers follow people, not partner logos. Two posts a week from real consultants compounds into inbound.
Move 3: productise what you already know
Service hours cap your revenue at your headcount. Products do not. The expertise sitting in your delivery team converts into things you can sell twice: CargoWise linked customer portals, WhatsApp shipment update automation, quoting and onboarding AI agents, packaged workflow audits, fixed price integration connectors. Each one gets its own page, its own demo and its own campaign, and each one opens doors that implementation pitches cannot.
The 90 day version
- Weeks 1 to 2: positioning sentence, homepage rewrite, one outcome case study.
- Weeks 3 to 6: outbound campaign to 150 forwarders on your target lanes or region, consultants posting weekly.
- Weeks 7 to 12: first productised add on packaged with its own page and demo, search coverage for implementation queries live.
