Guide: Amazon

How to sell on Amazon.ae and Amazon.sa

To sell on Amazon in the Gulf you register in Seller Central with a UAE trade licence or a Saudi commercial registration, ID and company details, and you can run Amazon.ae and Amazon.sa from one account. Brand Registry, FBA and Sponsored Products decide most of what happens in your first 90 days. This guide covers each step as of November 2026.

1. Decide which stores you need

Amazon groups the UAE and Saudi Arabia as one Middle East region, so a seller can manage Amazon.ae and Amazon.sa from one Seller Central. Egypt is registered separately. Each store still has its own listings, prices, stock and tax setup.

2. Prepare your documents

OtherCompany address, phone and email. VAT is not needed to sign up.Proof of address and a credit card

In Saudi Arabia, individual seller accounts are for Saudi citizens only. Amazon says a UAE company does not always need a Saudi entity to sell on Amazon.sa, but its compliance guide says non resident sellers using FBA in Saudi Arabia must register for VAT with ZATCA.

3. Get into Brand Registry

Brand Registry is available on Amazon.ae and Amazon.sa. You need a registered or pending trademark from the trademark office of a country with an Amazon store. The UAE Ministry of Economy is accepted. Brand Registry unlocks A+ content, a brand Store, Sponsored Brands, Amazon Attribution and tools to stop others changing your listings. If you do not have a trademark yet, Amazon's IP Accelerator connects you with law firms that file one.

4. Choose fulfilment

  • FBA: Amazon stores, packs, delivers and handles returns, and your products carry the Prime badge.
  • Easy Ship: you store and pack, an Amazon courier collects and delivers.
  • Self Ship: you do everything, which suits bulky or specialist products.

5. Build listings that convert

  • Research keywords from Amazon search and write titles and bullets in English and Arabic.
  • Use A+ content to answer the questions buyers ask before they order.
  • Show the product in use, with sizes and key features in the images.
  • Set up variations properly so reviews collect on one listing.

6. Know the fees

  • Referral fees run from 5% to 16% on Amazon.ae and 3% to 16% on Amazon.sa depending on category, with a minimum of AED 1 or SAR 1.
  • FBA fees start at AED 7.5 per unit in the UAE and SAR 5.5 per unit in Saudi Arabia, plus monthly storage of AED 2 or SAR 3 per cubic foot.
  • Amazon is waiving the Professional plan's monthly fee for a limited time.
  • Launch offers include a Brand Registry bonus of up to 5% back on early branded sales, Sponsored Products credit, and 30% off referral fees for 60 days for new Saudi sellers until 31 December 2026. Each has conditions, so check them in Seller Central.

7. Launch with Sponsored Products

Start with Sponsored Products on your hero items, with an automatic campaign to find search terms and manual campaigns on the ones that convert. Protect your brand name with Sponsored Brands once you are in Brand Registry. Add display and video through Amazon DSP only when the core campaigns are profitable.

8. Plan for the sale calendar

  • Prime Day ran from 24 to 30 June 2026 in the UAE.
  • White Friday is Amazon's Middle East name for Black Friday, in late November.
  • The Ramadan sale starts before Ramadan. Amazon.ae ran it from 27 January to 14 February in 2026.
  • FBA stock needs to arrive well before each event, so inbound shipments are planned weeks ahead.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Launching without a trademark and then losing control of your listings to resellers.
  • Sending too much slow stock to FBA and paying storage on it for months.
  • Running only automatic campaigns and never cutting the search terms that waste spend.
  • Copying UAE prices to Saudi Arabia without adjusting for 15% VAT and different fees.

Quick answers

Yes. Amazon does not ask for VAT to sign up in the UAE. You must register with the FTA once taxable sales pass AED 375,000 a year.
Yes. Amazon treats them as one region. Egypt needs a separate registration.
No, but without it you lose A+ content, Stores, Sponsored Brands, Amazon Attribution and most brand protection. For a brand, it is worth doing first.
